Nanjing trip

Just back from a work trip to Nanjing.... some snapshots, nothing much, just some views from the hotel room which happens to be the tallest building around the area... Typical of cities, it;s pretty much covered in smog.
Nanjing was pretty much a nice city i must say.. City planning is well-done, hey looks like Singapore, with trees and bushes lining along roads and pavements. Place is clean too, thanks to the numerous cleaners doin their jobs, just like Singapore. Weather is like Singapore too, though less humid.
Oh, why did i post the pic above? Cos this is the same shit that i drank for one of the dinner.. Gosh this thing is crazyyyyyyyyyy... Found out later at the duty free brouchure in the plane. "53% MOUTAI YINGBIN (MOUTAI VIP)MOUTAI YINGBIN (MOUTAI VIP) is the drink to serve to your VIPs. MOUTAI YINGBIN is carefully brewed to an excellent quality that is of a typical MOUTAI flavour."

Bloody hell!!!! 53%.. no wonder my head spins, heart throbbing and body hot after drinking that.. ^&*%^%#$%@. Oh and that small little bottle is almost $100sgd.. Crazyyyyy.....

going to detox a little since coming home.. In china = smoke loads, drink lots.. Smoke loads, cos ppl will offer all the smokers a ciggy once anyone lights up. So at times, even before i finish the current ciggy, u will find another one flying towards your direction. Drinks lots, cos they just love drinking, not in moderation though, They just cant enjoy their alcohol. The Chinese cant stand seeing alcohol in their glasses, so they just have to drink it down, dragging poor ppl like me into their torture. And when there;s no more alcohol in the glasses, they just have to fill it up to the brim and repeat the same shit again... arrhhhhhhHHH..

Property and real estate talk always crop up during meals. They just cant help it. There;s a boom now and i think they deem someone owning properties as a status symbol there.. Who cares... The way they drink and smoke, i think they cant enjoy much of their achievements in their later part of their lives anyway.. heh....

PVS anyone?

well i think they coined this syndrome as "phantom vibration syndrome". Others preferred to call it "vibranxiety". Well it's actually the feeling of thinking your mobile phone is ringing/vibrating in your pocket and the user being compelled taking out his/her mobile phone to check, which most of the time, the phone is really not ringing/vibrating. I am sure many of u do that, taking out your phone to check, especially when you have nothing to do.

kallang oasis to go???!!!

Heard it over somewhere that the government wants the land back, and so thus expects the tenants of the Kallang oasis area o vacate by December.. Kinda sad when i have fond memories of my childhood of the Taiwanese porridge located there. Not like i go there often when young, but the experiences there are special cos of how the architecture was built. Check out the first pic, place was built on the 80s, but it still looks contemporary now aren't it? still remember running along the link way between the structures, knowing the sea is just below me... feels fun when one is young/little at that time...
Seems like authentic childhood landmarks are getting less and less when we are pushing ourselves further into development. Every available land space have to be maximise for profits. Maybe the gabermen have a pricing for each piece of land. Like Land A must yield a profit of how much per square meter. If Land A is not yielding much profits, the establishments there have to make way for better, larger, brighter, more touristy landmarks so as to get more profits. Well in such a pragmatic society like ours, we readily trade souls for money aren't we?
The old has to go to make way for the young and exciting.... that;s what i feel about the current land uses in singapore. But, why does it not applicable to the people who comes out with all these plans? Hmmmm... the old still stays, until when huh???
Updates: Just saw on the news that kallang Oasis is making way for new water sports center.. how exciting.... how many ppl actually make use of the water sports center?? Yes i know, the rich...... The rest of us poor blokes, stand one side and watch, or you can try your luck at the makeshift pre-IR gambling tables at G...Damn happenin lah... Maybe you can end up becoming one of those rich fuckers playing water sports ok..
