Seems like authentic childhood landmarks are getting less and less when we are pushing ourselves further into development. Every available land space have to be maximise for profits. Maybe the gabermen have a pricing for each piece of land. Like Land A must yield a profit of how much per square meter. If Land A is not yielding much profits, the establishments there have to make way for better, larger, brighter, more touristy landmarks so as to get more profits. Well in such a pragmatic society like ours, we readily trade souls for money aren't we?
The old has to go to make way for the young and exciting.... that;s what i feel about the current land uses in singapore. But, why does it not applicable to the people who comes out with all these plans? Hmmmm... the old still stays, until when huh???
